Stick Man and the EquinoxStick Man sat on the craggly rocks and stared at the waves crashing below.
The Rose Cross sparkled in the moonlight, and the phosphorescence of the ocean, stars and cross made for a dance of light around him and the beast.
Stick Man hung his head between his knees and sighed. He saw beauty and mystery all around him, but his mind would just clip from one idle thought to another, and he was lost to the moment around him.
His mind seemed a random thought generator, unconnected to his heart and willfully bent on wandering in a land of imaginations born of desires of which he was ashamed.
So he sat at the ocean's edge and stared out to sea.
He didn't eat or drink, and he stayed in one spot for many days.
Wildebeest took to eating from the long grasses that grew from the sandy hillsides near the ocean. He also found a narrow path leading to a tidepool where he ate from the piles of kelp that washed up against the rocks.
The beast grew to enjoy the seaweed, the salt air, and the constancy an
Stick Man Wants To Lose His MindIt was quiet and nothing mattered.
Stick Man and Wildebeest were far from where they had started, heading towards nowhere they knew about.
The cross didn't matter. He didn't ask for it, didn't want it, had tried to throw it away only to have it wash up at his feet again. And even then when he tried to give it away everyone fearfully refused to take it.

It was bigger, better, smarter, more joy
Stuck The car sputtered and shook as it came to an almost silent stop. The engine had gone silent as the horn beeped loudly through the dark night. The orange gas light blinked mockingly at the woman behind the wheel. It was making fun of her; she knew it was making fun of her. Grabbing the black cellular phone on the passenger seat, she looked at it with full intention of calling somebody to come help her.
“Oh, what the hell?!”
The “no service” sign was mocking her at the same exact time. The horn beeped loudly as she slammed her head against it once again. The day was out to get her in general. She had arrived at all her classes late, and her son was sick with the flu. The babysitter was able to watch him as she went to her late night classes. Giving a heavy sigh, she lifted her head off the wheel to look out the window. Drops of water pooled on the windshield as rain started to fall in a pitter-patter pattern. She didn’t quite understand the message th
